Cassie here…
Tyler and I have been talking about getting a puppy dog for a few months and have had quite the search. We knew we wanted an Australian Shepherd and we were really hoping for the blue merle color. I grew up with two of that color, so they have quite the special place in my heart. We have probably contacted about 10 different breeders with no luck. Finally, about two weeks ago it looked like we had found a little girl from a very good breeder. Then, while we were in Nebraska last week visiting Tyler’s family we found out that the breeder placed the puppy with another family before we would have the chance to see her. I was so disappointed but after reminding myself that God has the perfect puppy plan for us, I talked to my dad (a veterinarian) who recommended that I look near Lake Hartwell where we are spending this week with my family (we’re doing the family reunion tour!). Well, sure enough, within an hour we found a fabulous breeder just 45 minutes from the lake house where we’re staying. She has a little boy that we went to see this morning and, as my dad says, we bought 1/5 of him (translation: we put down a deposit).
We are so excited! He is perfect and precious, of course, and he is a BIG boy. His daddy is the biggest Aussie I’ve ever seen and gorgeous. Our little guy is the biggest of his litter, so it looks like he is gonna be a beast too. I love it! We get to pick him up on Saturday on our way home from the lake. Yay!
Naturally, my husband couldn’t resist taking a few pictures during our visit so you get to meet Canon too! Yep, Canon…like the camera, of course, not the explosive weapon.

Isn’t he beautiful?

This next one is my favorite. He looks so yummy and rambunctious and fun! I want to squeeze him. I’m trying to talk Tyler into letting me hold him on the drive home, but he’s all worried that something could happen so we’ll see.

These next two images are of his daddy. With the exception of the blue eyes (our little guy’s are brown), this is what Canon will look like full grown. Pretty, huh?

Obviously, we’re so excited that we just couldn’t resist the chance to show him off. I’m sure this puppy will be well documented, so this is probably not the last time we’ll be asking you to humor us…so sorry in advance!
